The Cats in the Basement, Bloggers

Working with Dr. Sepulveda

3.5 years

In Brief

The Cats in the Basement (see the “Cats in the Basement Blog” on this site) are Reba and Leo Patrick Winthorpe III. They’re not siblings, although they’ve got that thing going on where couples start to look like each other. Right? They each came to Glen Rock Vet in their own destined way.

You can read more about each of their dramatic stories on the blog. Scroll down after the blog entries to find the links.

Reba came from a house chock full of unhealthy cats, a hoarder’s house and was rescued and brought to us by Jennifer. Leo was abandoned when someone moved and left him behind without food or litter. He found us through the sister of a friend of Dr. S’s.

As they were both weak and being brought back to health, one day they started playing together and haven’t stopped since. Now they’re happily co-creating a blogging career. Who knows where these two will go next.

In Brief

Mox was our office cat and was born in Jersey City. He lived there the first few years of his life. Unfortunately, his human was going to send Mox to a shelter. Dr. S met Mox and decided to keep him temporarily. He wouldn’t survive in a shelter because he didn’t respond well to a cage. Eventually Mox became an office cat. We’re sad to share that Mox left us unexpectedly and passed way too soon. He’s forever honored in our logo.

Mox’s Trademark Ear

Mox was born with a defective ear. A previous vet tried to do surgery and when a part of the ear fell off, the owner said, that’s it, enough. Now he’s a Van Gogh type. His hearing wasn’t affected and he wasn’t in pain; it’s a battle wound. Mox and his ear are paid tribute in our logo.
